Sweaty Eyeballs Animation Festival Returns!
The Sweaty Eyeballs Animation Festival will be returning in Fall 2026 and will include International Shorts programs and a Baltimore Showcase program screening at Falvey Hall Theatre at the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore. CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS IS OPEN!
The 2026 Sweaty Eyeballs Animation Festival is now accepting submissions! The festival this year will include two categories of animated short films: International (including US) and Baltimore (animations made within 50 miles of Baltimore City). Submission Deadlines:
June 28 - Earlybird Deadline - $10, $5 for students
July 31 - Regular Deadline - $15, $10 for students
August 21 - Final Deadline - $25, $15 for students
General Conditions:
• Sweaty Eyeballs welcomes all animation techniques for submission
• Sweaty Eyeballs welcomes professional and student work
• Narrative, documentary, and experimental work are all encouraged for submission
• Sweaty Eyeballs does not have a category for commissioned films, advertising films, or sponsored content, but music videos are encouraged to submit
• Films for young audiences (ages 5-12) as well as for adult audiences are encouraged to submit
• Films must be completed after January 1st, 2025
• Films must not exceed 20 minutes
• Films that are already available to stream online are still eligible
• Applicant must be the rightful owner of the submitted film and own any literary or music rights.
• Applicants may submit more than one film, but a separate submission must accompany each film
• Sweaty Eyeballs does not pay screening fees for films selected in competition programs
